Tethering should NOT cost extra! What do the carriers have to do with the data after they send it to my phone??! Why can't we just pay for the same data we already do and have our phone use and manipulate it anyway we want! I always thought it was ******** and I will never pay for it! Makes no sense!

uh ok... "built in pdf reader... windows marketplace - providing users easy access to Windows applications." - never seen that in an operating system before...
You mean like how Finder is finally adding cut and paste? Give me a break, there is plenty that Windows does that OSX does not do, like decent graphics support for one. It cuts both ways.

Honestly Denmark, Norway and Sweden...
If you don't like it, then get out... Leave it, don't touch it and shut up!
No one is forcing you to buy it, so stop whining... You are not making any sense, you are just acting like desperate little people wanting to bash Apple cause that is the PC way to do things...
Most PC users with an iPod in Scandinavia only rip music and that is all...
So, let me explain it to you, since you don't seem to get it...
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT... Here it comes... DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!
Stop acting so money hungry... Yeah, Norway wanting to give Apple a fine for their format... Wow... that's rich!
So, if a tiny country (Norway) with a few people wanting money, all they have to do is make a new law that is formulated so that they can "according to their law" say that international companies are violating their laws... Inventive, but very greedy...
There are other ways of getting noticed you know... Like doing something that actually benefits the world... (Max Von Sydow, doesn't count, he was Swedish)

Enjoy your new iPad. Based on your comments, you conscience is clear and unencumbered. Personally, I do not agree nor practice your way of thinking/living. However, to each his/her own methods.
Any means to justify a self serving end . . . Quite sad actually.
When the messenger of Misery comes knocking at your door, it will be of your own doing.

*edit:
If you like, later tonight I can show you how to do this as you first tried, by incrementing a seconds variable. Or wait for KnightWRX. My concern is accuracy of the timer. It might be off by several seconds after running an hour. That might not be an issue for your application, but you should be aware of it.
No, it very much is an issue, but I think this is an issue we should look into after the "timer" portion is working.
If we have a skeleton of a "timer" application working, with start/stop/resets going and a display that updates properly, then changing variables we increment based on the NSTimer firing to variables we increment based on the system clock is a trivial change.

My girlfriend is Chinese and she just doesn't understand our obsession with guns (understandably so). I don't either!
What are people so afraid of that they need guns to protect themselves from?
What are you so confident in? That 4-10 minutes IS fast enough to protect you, your daughters, or your property? How dependent should we be on the government?
National defense, not self defense

Apple don't do all that much innovating themselves. They just buy small companies who innovate then sell it as their own.
It's a bit more complicated than that in reality but generally that's where their stuff comes from.

You expect employees who make minimum wage to break up a fight? They should call the cops, but for sure not break up a fight.
No, I expect human beings to try and stop another from being seriously hurt.

I'm a current employee at Best Buy and thought I'd offer my two cents on a few issues.
<<<<clip>>>>>
I don't blame people for not liking Best Buy. I don't like them either. Just go easy on the guys on the floor and in the back. Unless they're the total goof-off employees which do exist, what you're pissed about is probably not their fault at all.
Did you write this on your shift at BB? :p
Really, I saw this post and went ! This guy has a lot to share and started to ignore, but a couple things caught my eye and read it.
It was an interesting perspective on BB from the inside. Not to far off from what I would expect. BB and other retailers are really in a pickle these days. Margins keep dropping and there is tons of competition on the Web to buy most anything at a discount.
Even the new stove I just bought. Shopped Sears, BB, Home Depot, and others... found what I liked, then went on the web to see what the real price was. Then went to the local guy and asked him to match the lowest price and he did. Best Buy and Sears can't negotiate, but the guy down the street will.
Best Buys and others have really become a place I go to touch and play with technology and then I go buy it somewhere else.
BTW... no offense, but employees at my local BB seem lost. I've heard tons of misinformation at mine. So I assume mine might have one of those questionable managers. :)

Other than keeping applications in self-contained folders, I don't see any of this as copying. Even so, having applications run as self-contained folders isn't even an Apple idea.
Different Microsoft IE versions for mobile phones, and computers? OH NOES!!
Built-in PDF reader?! OMG!! What next, will Windows let you resize windows from all 4 corners rather than.......oh wait, it already does.

The Apple Cinema Displays are expensive, but these are high-end professional grade LCDs. If you're going to be using them only to surf the web and watch TV then your money is wasted -- go and get a cheap Dell instead.
I know what I'll get when I'm looking for an LCD for my graphics work.
Take a look at this report:
http://images.apple.com/pro/pdf/AppleReport2005_rc1_051214.pdf
We use EIZO and Apple Cinema Display LCDs at work (we do web and print design and photography/digital imaging), and they are worth every dollar. We would not settle for anything less.
So in conclusion: for gaming and general web surfing, get a cheap consumer LCD. For serious graphics work, design and digital imaging, get a high-end LCD from trusted makers such as Apple, LaCie or EIZO.
I'm sick of people whining about the Apple Cinema Displays and how Apple is "ripping" people off. Booohooo. If you're complaining, then the ACD isn't meant for you. And if you think the ACDs cost a lot, you haven't seen the prices for the EIZOs!

Actually neither Lightroom or Aperture can do watermarks (other than EXIF data.).
Aperture can indeed do watermarks on export.

the temps haven't been that high (70C or under). i have changed the voltages, but maybe not enough. that's one of those things you have to play with.
but it looks like 2 of my rigs are down now. i might be driving back to fix them tomorrow night i guess. i'll put both of them back to 3.5 ghz and hopefully they'll stay stable.
my asus has been rock solid compared to the other 2 though. staying at 3.5-3.6 ghz
oh thats not very hot! might be the PSU struggling maybe?

But the fact remains how are they going to exactly implement two separate phones for carriers that use different cell tech, and implement them properly
You act like this is some impossible task that's never been done before. Or is Apple just not as capable as every other cell phone manufacturer in the world?

There is absolutely no, no, no way that Intel did not enter a contractual agreement with Apple that explicitly prohibits or deters Apple from using AMD's competitive products. Intel and Apple's partnership - not the traditional buyer-seller - extends into R&D and other considerable investments. Additionally, Apple is too small of a company to be able to leverage their volume in a way that would free them from such an agreement. Bottom line? We won't see an AMD in Apple for another 2-3 years, if it were to happen at all.

Bloggers often struggle to gain acceptance as a valid and legitimate source of news, and with this stunt (see link) Gizmodo have helped to undermine those who have worked so hard to gain credibility within an elitist industry.
I'm not without a sense of humour, but when Giz started screwing with a live presentation they crossed a line. This type of behaviour shouldn't be condoned in my opinion and a strong signal should be sent out to those responsible. Who's to say that they wouldn't interfere with an Apple event? What do you make of their actions?
