It's Y2K all over again. :)
I hope the extent of damage is minimal. Just think if a few key satellites are damaged. Some won't have a cell phone for a while. Maybe go without TV. ...The horror.
As far as more serious concerns, I'm sure the military has contingency defenses in case the system comes crashing down.
It's gonna be interesting to see.

Whats the different between these drivers and the latest and greatest that are available on the Canon website?
I don't think there's a difference. I think this is simply a package with a bunch of drivers like how Windows does so that when you plug in a Canon printer the driver is there instead of having to install the individual drivers from the website or CD that comes with the printer.

Hmmm... the low lite thing is a little troublesome, as I plan on mostly recording my and the guys I play with on gigs. Sometimes the lighting's not too great.
I wonder if the Zi8 is any better? Similar feature set but without the waterproofing.
They don't really give much specific information about the lens on the Zx3 on the Kodak website...

I guess Judgment Day is over, but how will I know whether or not to come up out of this bunker?
Just in case I think I'll stay down here. I have a 3-year supply of water and canned food.
Is this why we have a ratings system now?
Skynet took over MacRumors!!

It is truly a bloated beast, It takes about a minute to open up, plauges my screen with adverts If I open it without a video file. Bogs down the system massively too.

I was just shopping on Amazon and they had a disaster relief banner on their front page with the assurance that 100% of the donation would go to the Red Cross. So I guess it isn't unreasonable to assume that it could be done by Spymac, now is it??
I nearly joined them instead of Macrumors but I think I made the right choice; they are way too bloated with commercialism - although I do like the little script signature under everybody's avatar. How do they do that, I wonder?

Interesting article. It's fascinating and funny how computer technology progresses.
James Lileks, a news columnist and news ephemera Website owner, has a little section of his Web "museum" (http://www.lileks.com/institute/compupromo/index.html) with pictures from vintage mainframe computer advertisements, replete with his signature offbeat commentary. One depicted a Control Data 3500, and his final comment on it was: "Remember: your iPod has more storage capacity than everything in this room." :D

Sorry, I meant Oracle have discontinued their Oracle database for OSX.. the last release for OSX was Oracle 10g. Oracle is now 11g.
No, good point, Oracle probably shouldn't have bothered. Maybe it was a pet project for an internal developer that died on the vine?
Agreed - they aren't particularly pretty but since OO v3 things have got better with the use of Aqua. However, I'd rather them look ugly and have them not available on OSX at all...
My objection is that someone who won't or can't bother to put a little polish on an application to make it meet the :apple: HIG, probably won't put much effort into the platform-specific support issues that invariably crop up. Personally, if I wanted to run a Linux application I'd run the Linux OS. But I see where you're coming from.

If the pc has firewire you could use target mode and speed things up.

Get the Crucial 1333MHz, as you need that speed definitely for your iMac, and I assume your laptop uses it as well. If your laptop uses the slower speed, it will not work in your iMac

Also, I highly recommend taking at least one backpack to put sunscreen, water and snacks in. Disney World does allow food to be taken in now so I also recommend taking lunch some days as eating there every day is expensive.
Have fun!
We have a back pack already set up for the trip, the more people post here the more I see P&S is the way to go. Now the question is, whether the TMz-5 is good or should I "upgrade" hmmm, decision, decisions.

If you want to make an app with html5 and then compile it down to a native iOS app you can use http://www.phonegap.com/ . I'm currently using it to develop an app and have a prototype using it on my iPad. Works pretty well so far.

I'll be here all week :)
On a sidenote, it wasn't really meant to be funny, it just makes trolls look stupid when they quote you, or if you forget to come back you get your point across.

Do we have any ideas/updates on this one?
No, but if you go visit the the D3/D700 forum on dpreview they have 5 or 6 threads a day filled with baseless speculation on this topic. You can at least get your fill there.

What good is doing it all at the same time if you can't keep the call connected?;)
Hey guess what, I can make calls fine on my AT&T phone.
Keep believing the VZ hype and thinking only verizon customers can actually make phone calls:D

I have been using screen in the osx terminal to get serial access, using the following:
screen telnet /dev/tty.usbserial
Unfortunately I can't scrollback in screen, which makes copying long config files a process of :apple:-C, :apple:-V, and repeat. Any suggestions for native serial support in the osx terminal app WITH scrollback?
