So Im a freelance Editor/Motion Graphics guy with no real understanding of RAID Controller Cards, or how they work.
As of right now I have three 1TB drives inside my Mac Pro, RAIDed together (stripe 0) using the OS. No Raid card.
The drives are all 7200rpm from varying manufacturers. (not sure if this matters.)
My questions is; is it beneficial for me to get a RAID card to control these drives vs. leaving it to the OS to handle? Any suggestions for me?

Normal can be from under 2 day to over 2 weeks. No need to worry until it gets closer to being a month.

thanks for the advice... unfortunately warranty was up in july, but luckily it's still working fine... it's as if it worked the problem out of its system or something haha. I'm just gonna hope that I keep having good luck and wait for the mactels :cool:

Your best bet is to buy a new MBP, that may sound simple but since you have a variety of different issues, I don't think you will benefit from the repair costs for each specific issue. On top of this, since its warranty has expired, you will need to pay for all repair costs, including hardware, parts and even delivery fees.
Just get a quote from Apple to see how much they will charge you for the repair (obviously this means the laptop will have to be sent to Apple repair warehouse - they don't carry hardware changes in-store). If you see that it will cost a heck-load of cash, it's best to buy a new MBP, or even a 13" Air.

@TheMacMaster - I think you'll have to get a SL retail disc, its only $29 - then boot from that to do the disc repair.
In future, try not to hijack threads though, it makes things confusing, just start your own, it doesn't matter if you think you've got the same issue (because in fact, you might not.)

You need a credit card to register for an iTunes account and for some reason I think (read: think, not know) Apple has limited it to one credit card per account so I can't really do that.
Regional limiting is stupid, it's like DRM.
Strictly that's true, but there are a few easy ways round that. A Google search will bering up many methods, a few of which I think have been posted on here.

What is going on in the software dept at 1 infinite loop?
Not only is this update overdue, but its the only one of Apple's own iPhone apps to even be touched for iOS4 or the iPhone 4.
None of the Apps have been updated to a universal version with iPad support.
Oh, but Find my iPhone was critically important to have out on launch...:confused:
It's embarrassing.
I mean, what kind of example does this set for other devs? Apple expects their developers of technically completed products (apps) to be updated asap to support all of the latest features of the latest devices. Yet they themselves have half a dozen critical apps that haven't even been touched?
I agree, Apple knows when they will release a product, there should not be a reason to not have their Apps updated to support a new OS... And they really need to get the iPad department working to keep up as well. Come on Apple give us some updates. ;-)

I have a 50x50 vinyl banner of the moon landing, apparently this is much sought after, however I cannot find any record of one being sold. The only posters i can find are the long/slim ones. Mine is completely square. It is authentic i know that for a fact, its been in my possession for many years now and i personally took it down from the ceiling where it hung.

Not sure. Only time I was there was for iPhone 4 last year and lines were insane. Really have nothing to compare it to lol.

The recruitment seminar is really relaxed and you will get through it as long as you be yourself, engage with the recruiters and other people there and ask plenty of questions at the end regarding the job. Don't come over too much as a hardcore Apple fanboy but talk about how much you can't put down your iPhone/iPod. During the group exercises, make sure you try and come over as a good leader but good team player at the same time - make sure that your ideas are part of the main focus but be sure to agree with ideas that you wish you though of. Otherwise, just enjoy it as it's really relaxed and you will spend most of the two and a half hours watching a presentation, videos and doing some group exercises. They get through hundreds of CV's at a time and to get the chance to be considered is a good achievement. Just out of interest, what store are you thinking of joining and what position are you after?

Just buy one now. Rumours are pointing towards a Q4 or Q1 2012 release. No point in waiting that long. The iPhone 4 is a great device, get the white one if you want to be different. :D

If it is only 1.8" x 1.8" then Apple will probably try to use it. Many people are angry with Apple for not using the Radeon 9800 in the Powerbooks, but those chips are huge (almost PCI card sized!) and hot. We'll have to see how cool running this chip is, since NVIDIA already has some pretty aggressive mobile offerings (NOT the 5200).
Edit: I just noticed AnandTech has a preview of the chip, I'll check it out and let you guys know what the possibilities of this finding its way into a Powerbook are...

The biggest chip I ever saw was an IBM Power processor, which is about the size of a palm (less fingers).
