May be it is positive for skilled legal immigration. Since CIR is not coming anytime soon, congress can look at improving exiting legal immigration and Administrative changes can happen!!

short clip Telecasting in desi channels will be a good idea. as i know lot of indians watch desi channels.I still know many in my relatives who are suffering from green card retrogression but are ignorant of immigrationvoice.org and core team.all of them have desi channels through dish. we can telecast a short 10 second add in these channels and also telecast in u.s. channels to get widespread desi support and also all other green card retrogression victims support.by telecasting in these channels many ppl back in india will also know about the problems we indians are facing in u.s.a due to gc retro.we have to use popular media like t.v and internet as much as possible to get fellow victims and would-be victims know about us.yesterday i have posted in various communities like 'indians in america','hyderbadi's abroad' in orkut.com about immigrationvoice.org.similarly we can target many social networking sites,rediff.com,yahoo.com and other websites.chain mails like forwarding the plight of gc victims to all other friends and so on...and sending offline messsages through yahoo messenger etc .what say ???

I think it will stay where it is now for this quarter.....just my guess. Then for the last quarter, we may see some advancement.....again this is my guess.

I am in a similar position and have decided to go back to school in USA. My PD is Jan 2004 EB2, and I am sure I am not going to hit the jackpot before Sep 07. Is there any possible way I can save my GC?

The least people could do is put in their country of chargeability, and PD. It is just silly to see country of chargeability as US! Lets get serious people!

Then why do we need an attorney if we are there to correct them. We provide them with proper documentation. They make sure they put it correctly in the form. I can understand if a wrong document has been send and that caused the error but otherwise what are they for.
That was my feeling all this time. Why couldn't they just give us all the proper forms to fill (which we don't need lawyers for) and then correct the mistakes.

Filing 485 after june 10 may not help much. Because, state deprtment will move the date based on number of 485 approval (already filed before retrogression) by june first week, not by number of new 485s recived by june first week.
However, it is a good idea. Perhaps this time they may moniter the number of 485 recived on or before june 10. Unlike H1B, one can submit the new 485 on or before june 30. No need to rush.

I am in the same boat. Filed EAD on DEC 10 2010 with TSC and still waiting. Contacted USCIS Customer Support and create Expedite Request last Friday. I was told that I will hear back in 5 days. Will post back if I hear anything.

I am going for an InfoPass appointment tomorrow and thought of asking the members is the following questions seem appropriate. I dont expect the officer to answer all/any of them..but just thought of listing them..incase I get lucky and get a helpful officer.
- Is my case with an IO desk?
- Since when is it with an IO desk?
- if and when my background check updated?
- is background check same as IBIS check? If not then is IBIS check complete?
- if and when my FBI name check completed?
- is review awaiting some response from external agency
(Consulate post/FBI/BCP)?
- If under "additional review" What kind of "additional review" is it under?
- Expected time-frame for the additional review to be complete?
- Is it being actively worked on or just assigned to an officer and not updates?
- Is it being transferred to other/local office? Is any interview being planned?

but how do we know it reaches everyone waiting for GC. i think people active on IV are willing to contribute in one way or another, but we are unable to spread the message across EB community. as someone suggested, we need to send email to everyone registered on IV website and ask them to contribute in whichever way they can.

go to USCIS cases status page and create an online profile. Then you can add any immigration cases by case number to your protfolio. Once you do that, you can see the Last Updated date everytime you login. Everytime you get status change on your case, the LUD will change. But sometimes, LUD will change without any visible change on your status (known as "soft LUD").
Soft LUD can happen due to routine processing of your case (for example, they update results on FBI namecheck, fingerprint, etc.) or could be generated completely randomly due to general system updates. So LUDs should be taken with a grain of salt.
Hopefully that is a complete glossary of everything LUD.

Yes I believe the HR department is wrong in this case.
The problem according to them is that they need to verify the picture on the document I provide with the picture that the E-verify system will show.
I am researching this further once I get some more information from DHS I will be arguing with HR again.
