I can't believe some people here actually argued over whether it was already August 1st somewhere. Sheesh. Be grateful that someone made the thread. It's not about getting attention.

new frame twice a second but sound is ok. Vid card is radeon 9000 with 64mb.
Is that the issue or the paltry 512mb ram?
My guess is RAM is your biggest issue. I run 1GB in the system in my sig, and while that is adequate in OSX Tiger you're best off maxing the memory.
As for video cards, the Radeon 9000 is probably OK if you're not gaming, but if you are or if you want to take advantage of Core Image functionas then you need something better from this list (http://guides.macrumors.com/Core_Image#Supported_graphics_cards).
The Radeon 9800 Pro is the default choice for this machine based on performance, availability and cost. If you can find one of the rare OEM Radeon 9700 Pros you'll get a small performance boost. Plus, there are plenty of PC cards out there you can flash (I am running a GeForce 6800GT in my Digital Audio G4). Good luck.
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, or if you're already aware, but G4s can't really handle HD video playback, no matter how many upgrades you install. 480p is fine obviously, but even the fastest G4s fail to deal with 720p video. The G4 CPU simply doesn't have the oomph. Just something to consider.

Not so great at GREPs for Adobe Indesign. Would anyone care to help me figure out a GREP statement for the following scenarios:
1) Find letter x which occurs before letter a, ie 'xa'. Apply character style 1 to x.
2) Find letter combo xx. Apply character style 2 to the first x of this combo.
Any help would be much appreciated. I have an account on adobe.com, but i can't create threads there for some reason. This seemed like the next best place?

I seriously had a dream last night that maps was updated to 3D and you could use the gyroscope etc to fly through optional routes before chosing which one to take ahha.

I see tablet as a perfect tool for photo manipulation. Adobe should really push in this direction aggressively. To create a usable, not over complicated UI, tools optimized for finger touch, and with the power of original PS.

I have a couple Seagate drives I don't need. They are both:
250gigs capacity
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8
PATA/IDE interface
Used for backup purposes, not much actual "on" time. Tested and working.
Moving everything to larger SATA drives don't need these.
Will consider best offer. Looking for around $40 a piece.

I am awaiting my new Ipad and I will be putting a screen film on when I receive it. My question is : when the Ipad is sent out does it have any screen protector on and will the screen be basically dust free when I receive it and therefore would this be the best time to put the new screen film on it.

I want my widescreen 80gb iPod please.

Try telling the boomers that their ss contributions weren't for them but for their now deceased parents to live off of and that there is nothing left for them. Not a vote winner. Healthcare reform is the only way. Other nations achieve much better results in both healthcare and education with less money. Unfortunately there is also a lot of debt to be paid back which will be expensive when rates rise. More pain to come. Raise taxes and cut spending.
